LISOD educational programs are back!

LISOD Breast Center focuses not only on the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer but also implements new technologies and shares knowledge with colleagues.

Since 2021, LISOD hospital has been part of BRESO educational centers, engaged in the training of breast surgeons. It remains the only healthcare institution in Ukraine included in the BRESO program.

For many years our Breast Center has organized educational events for doctors from Ukraine and Europe to share their experience, skills, and achievements. 

The COVID-19 pandemic and the aggressive war against Ukraine put LISOD training programs on hold. However, in response to requests from colleagues, it's about time educational courses are resumed!

In November 2023, the Hospital of Israeli Oncology launched a new training course for breast surgeons. This is an author course of Andrii Zhigulin, Head of LISOD Breast Center, dedicated to oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery in multidisciplinary breast cancer treatment. The course is organized in association with OncoHub, the Ukrainian Union of Clinical Oncologists.

A 14-day course will cover all important topics:

• local and systemic radiology in breast cancer management
• surgical anatomy of the breast from the oncoplastic surgeon`s point of view
• cytology, histology, molecular morphology, and genetics in breast cancer diagnostic
• benign lesions of the breast
• oncoplastic breast-conserving surgery, volume displacement, and volume replacement techniques
• breast immediate and delayed reconstruction, lipografting
• complications in breast surgery
• systemic therapy of breast cancer
• rare tumors of the breast
• radiotherapy in breast cancer treatment
• physical and psychological rehabilitation of the patients

 All attendees will work in the operating room, participate in the surgeries, and multidisciplinary tumor boards, and discuss clinical cases.
