The highly-qualified radiation therapy team at Lisod is led by Israeli oncologist Zvi Bernstein. They operate two Varian Linear Accelerators produced in the US.

Clinical oncologists from Israel control these treatments. Relying on the diagnostics results, the council of physicians develops a treatment plan, supervises all kinds of therapy applied to the patient, and work out possible rehabilitation and aftercare variants.

The hospital is equipped to treat brain cancer, laryngeal cancer, lip cancer, duodenal cancer, stomach cancer, gall bladder cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, melanoma, uterine cancer, tonsil cancer, breast cancer, bladder cancer, liver cancer, oesophagus cancer, pancreatic cancer, penile cancer, prostate cancer, bowel cancer, sarcoma, oral cancer, cervical cancer, thyroid cancer, testicular cancer, tongue cancer, and ovarian cancer.

We conduct surgical treatment of malignant tumours of mammary glands, female genital system (oncological gynaecolgy), liver, colon, small intestine, stomach, kidneys, oesophagus, prostate, pancreas, and bladder. Non-oncological operations are are performed on patients for gall bladder and kidneys diseases, abdominal hernia, obesity, gynaecological disorders, non-neoplastic processes in the stomach, and reflux diseases. Ninety-nine per cent of operations are performed via laparoscopic access. Due to this less invasive method, patients recover quickly even after complicated oncological operations. As a result, on average, patients stay in hospital for under four days.

The effectiveness of chemotherapy at LISOD is usually achieved through a number of factors:

• the hospital cooperates with world leading companies manufacturing chemotherapy medications and guarantee the quality of these medications;
• patients are treated by experienced chemotherapy experts led by Israeli specialists who use NCCN approved protocols (US);
• chemotherapy drugs are applied as a single complex together with immune system stimulation and kidney and heart protecting medications to prevent harm from cytostatic agents. A number of medications are also used to prevent and fight back side effects.
