Reconstructive Surgeries by Andrii Zhygulin Were Highly Appreciated by European Oncologists

Dr. Zhygulin was awarded the third place in the nomination «Best Poster Prizes» for carrying out one of his many successful oncoplastic surgeries. The ceremony took place on September 16th, 2016 in one of the sessions of the 36th Congress of the European Society of Surgical Oncology, which is being held in Krakow (Poland).

The Surgical European community appreciated the professionalism of Andrii Zhygulin in the lumpectomy with oncoplastic LICAP (Lateral intercostal artery perforator) with breast reconstruction performed by him. During such surgeries, the tumour is removed and the size and shape of the breast of the patient is restored. It is worth noting that in the arsenal of professionals of the Center of Modern Mammology of LISOD, a LICAP reconstruction of the breast is just one of a number of options for organ-preserving treatment of cancer.

Riccardo Audisio (UK), president and scientific director of the European Society of Surgical Oncology and president of the British Society of Surgical Oncology,  personally handed over the award and congratulated Andrii Zhygulin.

Commenting on the high award on his page in Facebook, Andrii Zhygulin noted that to achieve this level would be difficult without the work of a large team.
